Quality & Safety
The safety and well-being of our patients are paramount.
Each donor (and their partner, if applicable) undergoes extensive testing for the following infectious diseases before donations commence. In addition to the basic tests, at Addam Donor Bank, we also undertake exhaustive genetic screening tests including HIV, Hepatitis B and C, blood group, among others.
After the completion of the above tests, the donation can begin. Sperm is then quarantined for three months from the date of the last donation. At the end of the donation period, donors are contacted to return for the following final screening tests to allow clearance of the sperm for use.
You can learn more about the process a donor undergoes to donate sperm on our Donation Steps web page.
